Social Media predictions for 2019
Here are my personal social media predictions for what I think will be big in 2019!
Predicted trend 1. Stories
Mark Zuckerberg said “Stories are the future” at the Facebook Q3 Earning Call.
Stories, both Facebook and Instagram are easy to create and you can have a deeper connection and relationship with your followers. I think it will become one of the primary ways users will consume content on Instagram. I don’t know about you but I’m slightly addicted to watching Instagram Stories.
Predicted trend 2. Video
Video I think is still going to be huge in 2019. Both live videos and uploaded videos.
As for IGTV, well for me, that’s still out for the jury. Do you use IGTV for your business? I would love to know.
Predicted trend 3. Influencer Marketing
I predict that we are going to experience a huge explosion and rapid growth in brands and businesses using influencers and bloggers as part of their marketing strategy. Especially micro influencers who have less than ten thousand followers on Instagram. According to a Nielsen report, 92% of consumers trust recommendations from individual more than brands.
Predicted trend 4. Communities
People love a sense of belonging to a community and I think that Facebook Groups could have a huge come back. This year they seemed to have died down a little with the algorithm change. However, with lots of new Facebook Group features set to be release in 2019, I think they are going to be bigger than ever.
Predicted trend 5. LinkedIn
Yep, LinkedIn. It’s no longer stuffy and for corporate people only. In 2018 LinkedIn had a bit of a come back and I think that will continue in 2019. If you aren’t on there yet, it might be worth checking it out for your business.
That is my five 2019 predicted trends for social media. I’m really exciting to see what happens for social media in 2019. As always I will be keeping you up to date with news on social media over on my Facebook Page. What predicted trend are you hoping to see in 2019? Please let me know by leaving a comment.
