If switching from “work mode” to “holiday mode” feels impossible, you’re not alone.
ADHD brains never stop. Our minds buzz with endless to-dos, unresolved tasks, and the guilt of “just one quick reply” that often turns into hours of work.
I’ve been there. In 2014, I went on a luxury holiday to Mauritius. But despite being in paradise my brain didn’t get the memo. I kept checking emails and replying to messages because it felt easy in the moment.
Big mistake. 🫠
Once I broke my own boundaries, my clients didn’t see my holiday as “time off.” So they expected a response even when I was on the beach with a brightly coloured drink in my hand. ⛱️🌴☀️
I unserstand the guilty feeling, the spiralling thoughts, that feeling in the pit of your stomach, the fear of missing something important.
But you deserve a break and unless you’re selling oxygen, nothing is that urgent that you have to disrupt your holiday.
🚨Their emergency is not your emergency 🚨
