  • When business guru’s told me to focus on engagement…
I focused on the people.

I showed up the same way whether 10 people were there or 1000 and I cared deeply about how each person felt inside the space.

I made sure people felt supported and safe and had the clarity they needed to make progress at their own pace.

Because I love what can come from being part of a community.

The impact it has on someone’s life, the confidence they build, the friendships and the ripple effect that it has on the world.

IMHO, communities are not built by chasing engagement. They are built by caring for the people part of them.

It’s how I built my communities, it’s how I help my clients build their 7 and 8 figure businesses.

It might seem simple but in a world right now where people are chasing engagement and treating people like a number, this goes a long way.

Love you, mean it

  • A 30 minute shift created £9k in recurring income 🥂

One of my favourite client moments happened during a membership launch with Michelle.

She had launched her membership several times
But this new launch for a new membership was not unfolding the way she expected.

Something felt off and she wanted support to shift the energy and strategy without adding more pressure or any more money into marketing.

We spent 30 minutes together on Zoom.

We focused on a mindset shift that brought her back into her power and a clear simple strategy that was aligned.

Over the weekend she brought in £9k of new members 💥

£9k of recurring monthly income!

From a launch that had been feeling slow only days before.

This is what I love about community and membership work.

Small thoughtful shifts can create incredible momentum especially when they come from a place of clarity and confidence.

  • Over the past decade, I’ve built and managed many communities.

It’s been soooo much fun! Like sometimes I can’t believe I’m getting paid to do it! ☺️

Communities from global movements to in-person events to paid memberships and programmes.

During the ten years I have noticed a pattern that I wanted to share with you because it’s so much more than “engagement”.

The communities that truly flourish always share the same core qualities.

They have connection.
They offer a clear, welcoming experience.
They guide members instead of overwhelming them.
And they’re built on strong foundations.

This is the work I do with my clients.

I help them create communities within memberships, course, programmes that feel alive, supportive and aligned with the experience they want for their clients.

If you want your community to flourish in a way that feels human and sustainable, this is what I do and would love to support you.

  • I built a community that reached over 7 million people every single week with members joining in from all around the world.

Back in 2014, I created a space to bring pet business owners together.

A place where they could finally get eyes on their services, feel supported and make real friendships in an industry that often felt isolating.

In the beginning it was just 10 people.
Then 20.
Then 50.

And before I knew it… #woofwoofwednesday became the weekly event for pet businesses everywhere.

Every Wednesday, we’d trend on Twitter…not below TV shows or world news, above them.

And then the brands started showing up:
Google UK, MTV Music, Channel 4, Krispy Kreme, English Heritage, BBC Radio…all wanting to be part of what we were creating.

Yes, we went viral, repeatedly.
But the virality wasn’t the best part.

The best part was watching strangers become collaborators, competitors become friends and small businesses grow because they finally had somewhere they belonged.

Even today, years later, people from that community are still working together.

Still supporting one another and still creating together.

#woofwoofwednesday taught me so much about the power of community.

It ignited something in me that I’ve never forgotten.

And even now, when I think back to it……it fills my heart with joy every single time.

  • Recently a large FB group changed its privacy from private to public.

In less than 12 hours over 2.5k members had left stating that it no longer felt like a safe space.

When the FB group admin was asked why they change the privacy, she replied “to attract more members”

24 hours later and after thousands of members leaving vowing never to return, the group went back to private.

But at this point the damage was already done. Members no longer safe to post in the group.

The trust had been broken.

Growth means nothing if your current members don’t feel safe enough to stay.

A community’s strength isn’t in how many people join…
It’s in how many people feel supported enough to stay.
